Sample Syllabus
COURSE DESCRIPTIONVISUAL ART 3D IS A BEGINNING ART COURSE WHICH IS A SEMESTER LONG. THE COURSE FOCUSES ON THE ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES OF ART AND DESIGN. PROJECTS WILL BE PRIMARILY THREE DIMENSIONAL IN NATURE AND STUDENTS WILL USE A WIDE VARIETY OF MEDIUMS INCLUDING ACRYLIC PAINT, CHIPBOARD, CLOTH MACHE, MODELING COMPOUNDS AND MANY OTHERS.

materials fee
required - $50 payable to Washington High School. Take care of this in the finance office and show Mr. Eagen your pink receipt. This fee covers paint, brushes, cardboard, glue, etc. due by 12/20 large plastic cup required - This will be used quite a bit when you paint. PLASTIC (not glass). Don't buy a cup. Find an old one. Large...like the size of a big gulp. due by 8/10 |
apron / smock optional - The class will be messy at times (paint, glue, etc.). It is highly recommended that you have an apron, smock, old over-sized shirt, or something similar. pencil pouch optional - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Helps to keep your brushed in good condition and helps them not get lost. |
history emphasis:
To understand and evaluate artwork you must first understand the purpose for which it was created. To appreciate the work an artist must also understand the time frame in which artwork was created. We will be exploring art periods as we experiment with various 3-D techniques.
